A Dash of Me

I was shocked when browsing through the Hollywood entertainment websites earlier…I thought they are going to last for 10 years…but I was wrong.

They are a picture of a perfect couple despite of the 16-years age difference. There have been infidelity rumors circulating before about Ashton but the couple denied and made a statement that they are still together and stronger than ever.

But I guess like a typical Hollywood celebrity couple you need to put a facade to hide the truth. While I was reading the article from People.com (that’s the photo that I posted here), a reliable source mentioned that the two are fighting intensely because both are unhappy with the present state of their marriage. Although they tried working it out (going on vacation, attending counseling, meeting up with their Kabbalah instructor), in the end they decided to put a period on their relationship. Tsk!

Oh well, I guess life goes on for these two because on a seperate news also from People.com…

I’m so sorry for not updating this blog. I confessed that I’m getting lazy but I’m trying to make an effort in making my presence felt…hehehe.

You’re all probably wondering about the title of this post. Well, I made a vow to make a new start or fresh beginning in my life or some things in my life if not all.

For instance, I’m waiting for an offer letter from a stable company that I will be joining soon. I’m quitting the work from home job that sounds promising at first but it was a hell that I’ve been through when it comes to the salary. I don’t want to dwell on that as it makes me hot headed.

Next is my eagerness to invest. I’ll start off first in stocks then gradually I will include mutual funds. Furthermore, I want to have a business of my own. Right now I don’t see myself working in a four walled room for the next 10 years. Good thing that my sister is a positive thinker and a doer when it comes to this area. I need a push and a motivation.

Lastly, I’ve been praying and wanting this for a long time for my husband to have his own job. I don’t know what will happen next year but I made myself clear to him that I can’t handle all the expenses myself and he needs to have a work as soon as possible.

So there, all my wishful thoughts and dreams on an early Monday morning. i think I need to blog more during this time of hour since it’s cooler in our room rather than creating a post when it’s humid or hot during afternoons. The main reason that I’m getting lazy to post anything. Sorry about that.

I have tons of things that I want to accomplish. Most of it is for the furnishing of our home. It’s been 16 months and there’s no improvement so far. Blame it on my 3 months of being unemployed and hubby’s unemployed status for more than 3 years. Luckily I found a job this month but it’s not stable as my two colleagues who started with us for 2 weeks were fired. Now there are only two of us left and I’m not sure what will be our future on this company. It seems that the owner favors the team/people working in the province since his been there with them for a long time and that’s where the company is based here in the Philippines.

I only hope that I can stay with this company until December of this year or until the pending application that I have in a stable company finally gives me an offer that i’ve been waiting for.

I hope that next year will be a bright and positive future for me and my husband and we can realize our dreams….taking one wish at a time.

I wanna watch this! It’s been awhile since I entered a cinema (that’s what happens when your unemployed for 3 months) and since I’m back on the corporate world, I want to give myself a reward (excuses…hehehe).

I’ve seen the trailer and I know it will be a good movie though a review in a website says that it resembles the 80s movie Over the Top by Sylvester Stallone. I didn’t watch that movie back then since it’s not allowed to be watch by kids like me and the fact that action movies is not my taste.

So it’s safe to assume that I will enjoy this film that is if I can be able to watch it this weekend with the husband.

The film is based on the 1956 short story “Steel” by Richard Matheson.

In 2020, humans have been replaced by robots in boxing. A washed-up fighter lost his chance at a title ends up as a small-time promoter. During his hopeful rise to the top, he discovers he has an 11-year-old son who wants to know his father. Together they found a champion in a discarded robot.

I’d be honest that I have no clue what Winter Solstice is about. I was thinking that it marks the start of winter season thus the name.  Good thing that I was watching the local news in cable and that’s when I learned the true fact about this astronomical event.

According to Wikipedia…

The winter solstice occurs exactly when the axial tilt of a planet is farthest away from the Sun, depending on the polar hemisphere of reference. Earth’s maximum axial tilt to our Sun during a solstice is 23° 26′. True enough that’s what happened last September 23 where we experienced the longest night and if I’m not mistaken that marks the start of early sunset and late sunrise here in the Philippines. I actually been noticing the change for a couple of days.  Good thing that my work is a dayshift. I get to enjoy the long nights sleeping soundly in our home. Sweet!

What’s more it’s a clear indication that Christmas season is just around the corner. I’m starting with my list since I have loads of godchildren.

As much as I want to apply for this credit card, I can’t since it’s not sensible on my part to get one though it’s tempting especially the perks that comes with it. Sigh! If this card came sooner than the Mabuhay Miles card that I have. The points accumulated here doesn’t have an expiry period so you can collect all the points and spend it anytime unlike the Mabuhay Miles where you need to spend the points before the expiry date. That reminds me that mine will be in October. Sigh! I will not be using it though. The points that I have are not enough for a decent one-way trip to the “selected” locations that they have. Bummer! Maybe I should ditch that card together with my other Metrobank card. Good idea!

My sister is interested to get one but as far as I know she didn’t apply. I wonder why…

Anyways, my overall goal for next year is…FINANCIAL FREEDOM! So I need to have a positive attitude towards everything and pray for guidance and blessing. Now I need to look for a potential businesses that can help me generate extra income.

Inspiration for those who are weary…

So sorry for the late post as I am busy after returning to Manila from our 3D/2N trip in Coron Palawan. Too bad that we were not able to maximize our visit there since my friends got tired easily from our island hopping.

I keep myself busy unpacking and attending interviews. Yes, I’m still looking for a full-time job and hopefully it will be really soon as I need the money and Christmas is just around the corner.

Hubby is already enrolled in English classes from American Institute and he will start tomorrow. I’m hoping and praying that he will be able to relax and overcome his shyness. More importantly to learn to communicate in English comfortably.

About family, our youngest will celebrate her 12th birthday on Sunday and on the same day my sister will be going to Malaysia to work there. One of the things I want to do next year is to visit her in Kuala Lumpur. In the near future I want to go to South Korea. I’m having a K fever as I keep watching Korean dramas. I was thinking if I should enroll myself in a Korean class =P

Oh, I will post some photos from our Coron trip. It pays to have an underwater camera since most of the breath taking views are under the sea. Too bad I missed taking a picture of the skeleton shipwreck that goes back in World War II. It’s really creepy.

I signed up for Artscow like 2 years ago since I heard a lot of good things about them, with their freebies and promo discounts for any photo products. I missed a lot of freebies from them. I’m so busy that I was not able to track the expiry dates of the promos they’re offering for new members. In short, the free photobooks in larger sizes are gone. Poof! Only photo prints remained in my account waiting to be claim.

Yesterday, I received an email for free photobooks which I can credit to my account just by entering the coupon code. I am really tempted to avail this since I have a lot of pictures that I want to put in a book. Also, my sister has a lot of pictures of her own so maybe I can those and create a photobook for her since her birthday is coming up real soon.

I need to start uploading pictures and afterwards I’m going to check out their tutorial on how to create a photobook. Though they have an available templates that I can use, some of them are overly done. Or some are way too simple for me but then again maybe they have a new ones that are worth using. Let’s see what I can find…

I was thinking of changing the look of this blog. I saw some people who are working to create/design a website so I assume that it will be not a major hitch if they can tinker my blog in wordpress.

The reason for this is that I think I made a wrong move or accidentally push a button in the admin dashboard page because right now the icons that are usually up on this editor page is not there anymore. It’s hard to explain so I’m going to print the screen to give you an idea.

See what I’m talking about? And also, I would like to change the theme/layout of this blog. Hopefully I succeed in my current full-time work and once I have the money I’ll start inquiring for freelance web designers/ UI expert for an advice and the cost I’ll have to pay. This will be one of the big steps that I have to make in terms of blogging.
